Let’s face it, we all love food. Food is more than mere sustenance — meals more than calories, carbs and kilojoules — food is fundamental, and to eat well is not only commonsense but one of the great pleasures of life. When not eating in a nice local restaurant or café, a bit of home cooking is in order. Despite being a complete clutz in the kitchen (if it can be burnt, I’ll burn it) and possessing a monumentally inept sense of culinary intuition, I still try to better myself — to avoid the ramen noodles and macaroni cheese that seem to be the mainstay of weeknight dinners for many, perhaps most, university students/articled clerks. To live the life of a gourmand is to live well indeed. With that objective in mind, I share some interesting culinary concepts from around the web. Sources referenced where applicable.
