This is the third time we have attempted to collect a couch from Ikea, and it very nearly ended in a third failure. The first two times, all remaining stock had been sold by the time we arrived to collect it. On this occasion, having been informed of stock availability, the warehouse was just about to close by the time we travelled the two hours from Byron Bay to Brisbane (the pickup location). We then discover that the couch is too large to fit into our station wagon, so delivery is arranged for one week’s time. Why Ikea refuses to allow stock reservations and telephone delivery bookings is beyond me!
